Jeff Stricker and Beth Hanks are Getting Married!

The Bride and Groom

Jeff and Beth met in chemistry class as sophomores at Lafayette High School. They continued to tease each other and compare test scores in physics class the following year. On the afternoon of their physics final exam, Jeff passed Beth a stubby pencil with a small note wound around it; the note contained Jeff's phone number. It took all of Beth's courage and many exhortations from her best friend, Julie Miller, to give Jeff a call several days later. Jeff and Beth soon found that they shared an interest in movies and chicken fingers, which proved to be a strong foundation for a lasting relationship. They are very excited to spend the rest of their lives together and hope that all their family and friends will help them celebrate their marriage.

Places To Eat in Williamsburg

The Cheese Shop

One quintessential Williamsburg experience is grabbing a sandwich at the Cheese Shop before strolling up and down Duke of Gloucester street, the main pedestrian drag in Colonial Williamsburg. Jeff and Beth recommend a turkey and cheddar cheese sandwich on French bread. This store also features a wide array of gourmet chocolates, cheeses, and wines to take back to the hotel as snacks or home as souvenirs.

The Fat Canary

Next door to the Cheese Shop, this restaurant is where Jeff and Beth dined after Jeff proposed. The menu changes seasonally, but Jeff and Beth sincerely enjoyed the "Heritage Breed Pork Chop with Toasted Walnut Gruyere Bread Pudding, Swiss Chard, Apples, and Bacon" when they were there. Reservations are highly recommended.

Bruster's Ice Cream

Okay, Bruster's is a chain, but as there aren't any franchises in Northern Virginia, Beth and Jeff always drop by whenever they're in Williamsburg to see if "Key Lime Pie" is available. This flavor features tart key-lime flavored ice cream with buttery graham cracker swirls.

Pierce's Pitt Barbeque

Don't bother with brisket, chicken or ribs; the pulled pork at this barbeque joint is a must! Jeff and Beth recommend a "jumbo" barbeque pork sandwich, with sides of hush puppies and green beans.

Paul's Deli

Paul's Deli is a favorite hangout for locals and William and Mary Students. The food is exceptional and the servings are colossal. If you're a carnivore, order “Paul's Baked Italian Combo,” an immense pie pan of sausage and pepperoni topped with mozzarella over spaghetti.

The Greene Leafe Cafe

The Greene Leafe has myriad beers, on tap and in bottles, but make sure you get some of their uber-delicious French fries to go along with your libations.

The Surry House

If you're looking for an experience and are willing to travel, take a ferry across the James River to eat at the Surry House, which specializes in Southern food. Try anything with Virginia ham or the peanut soup!
